Here’s the complete guide to the new K-drama releases and returning shows airing this week.
New K-Dramas and Returning Shows Releasing From September 28 to October 4
1. Mission: Mompossible — September 28
The biggest new premiere of the week is Mission: Mompossible, a family K-drama centred on a mother who has spent years putting her children before herself.
Kim Hee-jung plays Jo Mi-mi, a mother who has devoted much of her life to raising her three children. But with her children now grown up and continuing to bring complicated problems into her life, Mi-mi eventually reaches the point where she can no longer keep putting everyone else first.
The story also follows Jeon Jin-hee, played by Kang Kyung-hun, whose approach to motherhood is very different from Mi-mi’s. As their children’s lives become connected, their families are pulled into a web of secrets, conflicts and complicated relationships.
That gives Mission: Mompossible a distinctly family-focused setup, with the drama exploring what happens when years of sacrifice begin to collide with the changing lives of adult children.
Release date: September 28, 2026
Genre: Family drama
Cast: Kim Hee-jung, Kang Kyung-hun, Jung Min-ah, Dong-ha
The Ordinary Jackpot — Episodes 7 and 8 on October 1
What would you do if you suddenly won KRW 1.3 billion but still decided to show up at work?
That’s the unusual premise behind The Ordinary Jackpot.
The drama follows an ordinary office worker, played by Lee Jun-hyuk, whose life changes completely after winning a massive lottery prize. With enough money to walk away from his exhausting job, he seemingly has every reason to quit.
Instead, he returns to work.
The unexpected decision becomes the heart of the story as his lottery win changes the way he thinks about his career, money and ordinary daily life. Rather than treating sudden wealth as the end of his problems, the series looks at how it changes his relationship with the life he already has.
Episodes 7 and 8 are scheduled to release on October 1.
Release date: October 1, 2026
Episodes: 7 and 8
Lead: Lee Jun-hyuk
Where to watch: Rakuten Viki
A Love Other Than Yours — Episodes 5 and 6
If you’re in the mood for a more mature relationship story, A Love Other Than Yours takes a very different approach to romance.
The series follows a couple who have been together for 10 years. What once felt exciting and passionate has gradually become familiar, leaving the pair questioning what their relationship really means.
Are they still together because they genuinely love each other, or have they simply become accustomed to sharing the same life?
That question drives the drama as the couple finds itself caught between staying together and considering separation. Instead of focusing on the beginning of a relationship, A Love Other Than Yours examines what happens when years of familiarity begin to change the way two people see each other.
Episode 5 arrives on October 3, followed by Episode 6 on October 4.
Release dates: October 3 and 4, 2026
Episodes: 5 and 6
Genre: Romance / relationship drama
Platform: Prime Video
New Recruit 4: Sabotage — Episodes 11 and 12
Fans of military comedy have another reason to tune in this week with New Recruit 4: Sabotage.
The series follows Park Min-seok, played by Kim Min-ho, as he enters another stage of military life after receiving a promotion to corporal. Unfortunately for him, the new rank doesn’t mean that things are about to become easier.
Instead, the arrival of a mysterious new recruit and a new battalion commander creates another round of chaos.
The show’s military setting gives the story plenty of room for comedy, while the changing hierarchy keeps Park Min-seok and the other characters dealing with fresh problems.
Episode 11 releases on September 28, followed by Episode 12 on September 29.
Release dates: September 28 and 29, 2026
Episodes: 11 and 12
Cast: Kim Min-ho, Kim Dong-jun, Lee Won-jung
Genre: Military comedy / drama
Salon De Nabi — Episodes 5 and 6
For viewers who prefer workplace stories, Salon De Nabi moves forward with two new episodes this week.
Set inside a neighbourhood hair salon, the drama follows a group of stylists dealing with demanding customers, workplace pressures and their own personal problems.
At the centre is Gi-bbeum, an intern who is trying to adjust to her new surroundings while learning from the more experienced members of the salon team.
The setting gives Salon De Nabi a more grounded workplace atmosphere. Rather than focusing on corporate offices or high-powered careers, the series finds its drama in everyday interactions between colleagues and customers.
Episode 5 arrives on October 3, while Episode 6 follows on October 4.
Release dates: October 3 and 4, 2026
Episodes: 5 and 6
Genre: Workplace drama
Total episodes: 16
Four Hands, Two Sonatas — Episodes 11 and 12
Music, friendship and romance come together in Four Hands, Two Sonatas, a coming-of-age series set at Korea Arts High School.
The story follows three gifted young musicians whose lives become intertwined as they pursue their ambitions. Their friendship develops alongside a sense of rivalry, creating tension as each character tries to find their own place and prove themselves.
But their artistic ambitions aren’t the only thing complicating their lives. Relationships, friendship and the pressure of chasing a dream all become part of their journey.
With Song Kang, Lee Jun-young and Jang Gyu-ri leading the cast, the drama should appeal to viewers who enjoy youth stories where romance and personal ambition develop alongside one another.
Episode 11 arrives on October 3, followed by Episode 12 on October 4.

What Should You Watch This Week?
The best choice depends on what you’re looking for from your next K-drama.
If you want a brand-new family drama, Mission: Mompossible is the week’s main premiere. Its story about motherhood and complicated adult children gives it a different emotional angle from the romance-heavy shows dominating many K-drama schedules.
For something more unusual, The Ordinary Jackpot combines an everyday office setting with the fantasy of suddenly becoming a lottery winner. The fact that its protagonist chooses to keep working despite becoming rich is what makes the premise stand out.
Romance fans looking for a story about a long-term relationship rather than a first meeting can try A Love Other Than Yours. Meanwhile, New Recruit 4: Sabotage is the obvious choice if military comedy is more your thing.
And if you enjoy young characters balancing friendship, romance and ambition, Four Hands, Two Sonatas offers a music-focused coming-of-age story.
