Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 is getting darker, and Sukuna appears to be at the center of it all. A brand-new super teaser visual for Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 2 has been revealed, giving fans their most intriguing look yet at the next chapter of MAPPA’s hit anime.
The new artwork was unveiled on August 29, 2026, during Juju Fest 2026, the event celebrating the anime’s fifth anniversary. The visual prominently features Ryomen Sukuna, and its ominous imagery is already giving manga readers plenty to speculate about.
With the Culling Game entering a much more dangerous phase, the new Sukuna reveal could be hinting at some of the biggest developments still waiting to be animated.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Reveals a Mysterious Sukuna Visual
The new Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 visual immediately stands out because of its unsettling composition.
Sukuna is shown emerging from a dark, almost submerged environment while reaching one hand toward the viewer. His menacing expression and the surrounding darkness create an eerie atmosphere that feels perfectly suited to the King of Curses.
The official artwork also carries a cryptic message that essentially teases viewers about seeing something interesting.
For anime-only fans, the visual raises one obvious question:
What exactly is Sukuna planning?
For manga readers, however, the answer may be considerably more alarming.
Sukuna Could Become Even More Important in Culling Game Part 2
Spoiler warning: The following section discusses major manga developments that may eventually appear in the anime.
Sukuna’s presence in the new teaser is unlikely to be random.
The upcoming Culling Game Part 2 moves the story into a phase where several characters begin pursuing their own objectives while the larger conflict surrounding the Culling Game continues to escalate.
One of the most important pieces of Sukuna’s storyline involves the mysterious binding vow he previously established with Yuji Itadori.
That agreement, introduced much earlier in the series, becomes increasingly significant as the story progresses. Sukuna’s long-term ambitions also bring him closer to Megumi Fushiguro and his Ten Shadows Technique.
And that is where things become particularly dangerous.
Megumi’s technique gives Sukuna access to abilities that could dramatically change the balance of power. The darkness surrounding Sukuna in the new visual has therefore prompted plenty of speculation among manga readers about what MAPPA may be preparing to animate.

What Happens to Megumi and Yuji?
The relationship between Yuji Itadori, Sukuna and Megumi Fushiguro has always been one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most important story threads.
Yuji has spent much of the series attempting to control the consequences of becoming Sukuna’s vessel. Megumi, meanwhile, has remained one of the few people Sukuna has shown a particularly strong interest in.
As the Culling Game progresses, that dynamic becomes far more important.
Sukuna’s interest in Megumi is not simply about defeating another sorcerer. His Ten Shadows Technique represents something far more valuable to the King of Curses.
This makes the next stage of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 potentially devastating for both Yuji and Megumi.
The Culling Game Is About to Get Even More Chaotic
The new season will continue the Culling Game storyline rather than introducing an entirely separate narrative.
Several major character storylines are set to collide as the players attempt to navigate the increasingly complicated rules of the deadly ritual.
Among the developments ahead are:
- Hakari and Panda becoming involved in the Tokyo No. 2 Colony storyline.
- Maki’s devastating confrontation with the Zenin clan.
- Choso and Yuki Tsukumo protecting Tengen.
- Sukuna moving forward with his own mysterious plans.
- Yuji and the other sorcerers becoming increasingly entangled in the larger conflict.
The official teaser information confirms that the Culling Game is entering a new phase, while Sukuna’s role remains one of the biggest mysteries surrounding the upcoming season.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Release Date: When Is Culling Game Part 2 Coming?
Unfortunately, fans still don’t have a confirmed Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 release date.
MAPPA has confirmed that The Culling Game Part 2 is in production, but an official premiere date or release window has not yet been announced. The June 2026 teaser also confirmed that production was continuing at MAPPA, with Takeru Sato taking over as director and Shota Goshozono moving into the chief director role.
That means fans will have to wait for another official announcement before knowing exactly when Season 4 will premiere.
However, the arrival of a new super teaser visual during Juju Fest 2026 is certainly encouraging.
Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Be the Biggest Season Yet?
If MAPPA follows the manga closely, Culling Game Part 2 could become one of the most intense sections of the entire Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
The story has already moved beyond the point where the characters can simply survive one battle and return to normal. Multiple conflicts are now happening simultaneously, while Sukuna’s ambitions threaten to push the story into an entirely different direction.
And if the new teaser is any indication, Sukuna is going to have a major role to play.
The King of Curses is back in the spotlight.
Now, fans just have to wait and see what MAPPA does with him.
